Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews, and a virtual tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 08/25/2021. The Director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 24 children present, ranging from 2 years to 5 years in age, with 4 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; medication; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 5 children records, 1 board officer's file, and 4 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined that there was a non-compliance with an applicable standards, code or law. These violation was documented on the Violation Notice issued to the program.

Based on review, 2 of 5 staff files indicated that the Child Day Center (CDC) did not obtain a copy of the results of a sex offender registry (SOR) check from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (08/25/2021), an out-of-state SOR check was not available for review for the following: Staff #1 (from the State of Maryland), and Staff #4 (from the State of Maryland).
2. The Center Director confirmed this on the date of inspection.
