Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted in conjunction with the licensing inspection. Subsidy standards that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this SHSI.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
All staff who work directly with children must have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care which includes an in-person competency demonstration.
Staff #2 who was working with children at the time of the inspection does not have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care. Staff #2's certification expired 14 months ago.
Plan of Correction: A First Aid and CPR class is being scheduled in July for all staff requiring updated training All staff will maintain current certification in First Aid and CPR.

Staff #2 who was working with children at the time of the inspection does not have current certification in first aid. Staff #2's certification expired 14 months ago.

(repeat Violation) Staff who work directly with children must annually attend at least 16 hours of training and staff development activities, to include the department's health and safety update course.
Staff #4's record did not contain documentation to demonstrate that they had attended the department's health and safety update course had been attended within the last 12 months.
Plan of Correction: Staff #4's will begin the attended the department's health and safety update course and have it completed by no later than 7/14/2025.
