Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on August 7, 2024, as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 9:55am and ended at 11:25am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 13 children present, 1 provider and 3 caregivers. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records, 1 provider, 3 caregivers and 1 household member record on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the home, interviews, and observations. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 8/20/2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard 8VAC20-800-40-A
Based on observation and interview, the provider did not ensure that the total number of children receiving care at any one time does not exceed the maximum licensed capacity of the home.

Evidence:
The provider confirmed 13 children and 3 caregivers were present at 11:00am, during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: It was a miscommunication of the parents. A child showed up unscheduled. In the future no more than 12 children will be scheduled.
Standard 8VAC20-800-750-D
Based on observation, the provider did not ensure when topical skin products such as diaper ointment are used, beyond the expiration date.

Evidence:
There was diaper ointment expired in 2/2024.
Plan of Correction: Check the expiration date and back to parents and check every six months.
Standard 8VAC20-820-120-A-4
Based on observation and interview the licensee did not operate within the terms of its license.

Evidence:
The provider confirmed 13 children and three caregivers were present at 11:00 during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: A child was dropped off at 11:00 am unscheduled, and the parent picked her up at noon. In the future, I will be more careful to avoid having more than 12 children.
