Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on September 13, 2021 and concluded on September 15, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 20 children present, ranging in ages from five to 12 years of age, with three staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of four child records and three staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on a review of evacuation drills, the center failed to complete a monthly practice evacuation drill.

Evidence:
1. There was no documentation of an evacuation drill being completed in August 2021.
2. Staff verified that there was not an evacuation drill completed in August 2021.
Plan of Correction: There was turnover with staff during the month of August and it was not clear on who was going to complete the evacuation drill. Since then administration have been placed an employee has been assigned to ensure evacuation drills are completed monthly.
