Inspector Notes

An onsite code compliance inspection was conducted October 25, 2023. The inspection was initiated at approximately 2:40 PM and concluded at approximately 4:30 PM. There were 18 children present, ranging from two to 10 years of age, with three staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, and medication. A total of fever children's records and five staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-770-40-D-2
Based on review of five staff records, observation and interview, the vendor failed to obtain satisfactory results of the Virginia Child Protective Services Central Registry check for one staff member.
Evidence:
1. The record for Staff #1 (Date of Employment 10/25/2022) did not contain results of the
Virginia Child Protective Services Central Registry check.
2. Staff #1 was observed working with children in the center during the inspection.
3. A letter dated 12/09/2022 indicated the information was not eligible for background
portability.
4. A member of management stated there was confusion on the correct steps for obtaining the background check online and thought it was completed correctly.
Plan of Correction: The error was corrected while the licensing inspector was onsite.
