Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 4/23/2021 and concluded on 4/23/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were seven children present and six staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Violations

1
Standard 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-4
Based on a review of two staff records, one record did not contain the required out of state background checks. Evidence: 1. The record for Staff #1 (hire date 1/11/2021) indicated the staff member resided in New York in the last five years. 2. The record for Staff #1 did not contain a child abuse and neglect registry search for New York. 3. The record for Staff #1 did not contain a sex offender registry search for New York.
Plan of Correction: Administration will ensure the out of state background checks are obtained in the required timeframes for any staff that have been residents of a state other than Virginia in the last five years. Administration will provide licensing with documentation to show the New York background checks have been requested.
