Inspector Notes

An in-person renewal study was conducted today. The inspection will be typed off site and emailed to the Director for signatures.
There were 118 children present today with 25 staff. All rooms were in ratio during the inspection. 4 staff and 4 child records were reviewed. Medications, first aid supplies, emergency supplies, menu, bottle labeling, tummy time, Fire Inspection report and Health Inspection report were all inspected. See Violation notice for non-compliances. Children were observed being fed, during diapering, playing outside on the playground, and enjoying a wide variety of age-appropriate activities in multiple rooms. Standard 8VAC20-780-160-A
Based on a review of records, one staff record did not contain documentation of a negative TB screening within in 21 days of employment.
Evidence:
Staff A (Date of Employment: 10/12/21) did not provide documentation of a negative TB Screening within 21 days of employment based on the regulations at that time. The TB screening results are dated 11/30/21.
Plan of Correction: All new staff return proof of TB prior to their start date.
Standard 8VAC20-780-440-B
Based on direct observation, one crib in the infant room was not labeled for use.
Evidence:
The Infant-4 room had one child that did not have a crib labeled for their use. (Child 1)
Plan of Correction: Crib was labeled same day. Cribs will be labeled before children start in the classroom.
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-L
Based on direct observation, medications were not kept in a locked place with a safe locking method.
Evidence:
One medication in the Preschool 3 room was stored in a plastic bag, inside a backpack that was not kept locked.
Plan of Correction: Medication was moved to a locked location during the inspection. A Safety-Sak container was placed in the classroom during the inspection to use for the medication.
