Inspector Notes

An unannounced Renewal Inspection was conducted in person on June 15, 2022 from 10:25- 11:35. There were 11 children present with 2 Caregivers for a total of 29 points. The lower level is set up for children and the setting has a large variety of stage appropriate equipment. The Provider does not have an outdoor play area but stated she does take the children out for walks. Please call of you have any questions 703 479-4679.

Standard 8VAC20-800-200-C
Based on documentation and interviews, it was determined the Provider did not obtain documentation of the Orientation training for the three caregivers.
Evidence:
1. Files for Caregiver 2, 3, and 4 were reviewed and Orientation was not in the file.
2. Provider stated she covered the topics but did not date, sign, or have them sign the training.
Plan of Correction: I will have all of the caregivers sign the documents and in the future will make sure documentation is completed.
Standard 8VAC20-800-210-A
Based on record review, it was determined Caregiver #2 did not obtain 16 hours of annual training.
Evidence:
1. Inspector reviewed training documents for Caregiver #2 and within the anniversary year, Caregiver only had 12 hours of training documented.
Plan of Correction: I will ensure she has 16 hours by the end of the Caregiver's year.
Standard 8VAC20-800-770
Based on interview and observation, it was determined the Provider did not a working battery operated radio as the batteries did not work and she did not have extra batteries.
Plan of Correction: I will make sure to have batteries available.
