Inspector Notes

An unannounced onsite inspection was conducted today. There were a total of 24 children with 4 staff and 2 co op parents. When the Inspector arrived, one class was outside preparing for morning snack. Children transitioned to the playground area and were observed selecting equipment out of a storage area located on the playground. The playground toys and equipment were determined age appropriate for the children in care. An outdoor portable sink was assembled for children and staff hand washing. Staff were observed using hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes with children after snack. A walk thru of classrooms, one bathroom, a theme room which was currently set up for a doctor's office and the large gross motor play room located on the upper level was made. The programming this year focuses primarily on outside activities. Children's Valentine artwork on display along with other projects that coincided with the lesson plans for February. An incubator was onsite with eggs waiting for hatching. Lessons on the stages of chicken eggs was also on display. Thank you for your cooperation today. Some violations were found. Based on staff record review, not all background checks were obtained.
Evidence:
1. Staff #1 was hired on 09/01/21.
2. Results of an out of state criminal record search for Staff #1 was not obtained prior to
hire.
3. An Out of State Child Abuse and Neglect Search was not requested for Staff #1.
Plan of Correction: All of these background checks will be conducted and results will be forwarded to the licensing inspector for review within 10 working days.

Based on review of the center's posted evacuation maps, not all information was found.
Evidence:
The evacuation procedures/maps located in all classrooms did not include primary and secondary means of egress and assembly points for shelter in place and lock down procedures.
Plan of Correction: All maps will be updated to include primary and secondary means of egress. Areas of shelter in place and lock down assembly points will be included.
