Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm with the center director. There were 97 children, ranging from three months to five years of age, present with 16 staff supervising. Infant care was observed and older children were observed eating lunch, listening to stories, preparing for nap, and napping. Lunch served today: pasta with butter, peas, applesauce and milk. Five child records and five staff records were reviewed, along with the emergency drill log, written daily attendance, written allergy list, two medications and authorization forms, one allergy care plan and the annual fire and health inspections. (Repeat violation) Based on observation, the facility failed to ensure that children's hands were washed as required. Evidence: In the infant classroom one infant was observed drinking a bottle and their hands were not washed beforehand as required.

Based on observation, and staff interview, the facility failed to follow USDA nutritional requirements when serving lunch. Evidence: the children were observed eating pasta w/butter, peas, apple sauce and milk for lunch; no meat or meat alternative was served.
