Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 7/6/23 from 10:00am to 11:10am with the provider, who was present with one assistant. There were six children in care, ranging in age from 15-months to three-years-old, for a total of 16 points. Children were observed having free play, going outside, coming inside and washing hands, reading and discussing books with the provider, and playing with playdough. Three child records, the provider record, one assistant record, one household member record, and two pet records were reviewed. The provider and assistant have current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider does not administer medication and understands that they must obtain re-certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT) in order to give medication. The first aid kit, flashlight, weather-band radio, and carbon monoxide detector were observed. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@doe.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.
