Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including phone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/14/2021 and concluded on 10/18/2021. The director was contacted by phone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 30 children present, ranging in ages from infant to preschool, with 11 staff supervising and/or on site. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of three child records and three staff records were reviewed.
New requirements became effective on 10/13/21. The facility has not yet fully complied with the following requirement: 8VAC20-780-240. staff orientation to include prevention of sudden death syndrome, use of safe sleep practices, prevention of shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma, including procedure to cope with crying babies or distraught children. The director has started to develop the training and resources for staff.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
