Inspector Notes

A renewal inspection was conducted between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. There were 68 children in attendance in the age range of infant to school-age with 13 staff supervising. The director, assistant director, cook, and maintenance staff were also present.

Infants were observed being fed, sleeping, and playing. Children were observed playing outside and inside, having a water break, eating lunch, and being read to. A total of seven staff records and six child records were reviewed. No medications were reported being on site.

The inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

the center did not have an annual approval from the health department.
Evidence:
1. The last health inspection was dated 07/23/2020.
Plan of Correction: The director/owner will continue to contact the health department to get an inspection.
Standard 8VAC20-780-330-B
Based on observation and measurement, the center failed to maintain the required resilient surfacing in fall zones.
Evidence:
1. The inspector measured and observed 2-3 inches of mulch under the bridge, under the swings , and at the bottom of the slide on the preschool playground. 2. The wobbler and toddler playground had 2-3 inches under the swings and around the blue merry go round piece of equipment.
Plan of Correction: The owner/director has hired a turf company to replace the mulch in all of the fenced playground areas. there have been delays due to weather. All of the mulch is being replaced with the resilient surfacing/turf.
