A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted in conjunction with the licensing inspection. Subsidy standards that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this SHSI. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

REPEAT VIOLATION
All staff who work directly with children shall complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff with 90 days of employment. Staff #1, who has been working at the center for at least three months, did not complete the 10-hour Virginia Preservice training.

Plan of Correction: Staff #1 ha been removed from ratio until VA preservice training is completed. Staff #1 is expected to complete training asap. New employees will be added to a new training schedule upon hire with the required preservice training listed as a priority.
