Inspector Notes

A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 6/14/2022 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A total of 64 children were present with 13 caregivers. The children were engaged in the following: participating in water play outside, making Father's Day crafts, participating in circle time, singing songs, and playing in centers. Programming, menus, emergency procedures, 6 medications, and 6 children?s records and 5 staff records were reviewed.

A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.

Based on record review, the center did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) including an in-person competency demonstration within 90 days of employment.

Evidence: Staff #5 (Date of Hire: 3/20/2018) does not have current CPR certification including an in-person competency demonstration.
Plan of Correction: Staff #5 is a seasonal employee and had just returned to work on 6-6-22 since last worked on 12-23-21 and is currently certified in Adult and Pediatric CPR/FA/AED as of 6-17-2022.
