Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on February 29, 2024 with the center staff. There were 36 children present with 6 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of six staff records and staff interview, the facility failed to have each staff complete the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course (VA Pre-service) within 90 days of employment. Evidence: Staff 4 (date of employment 7/5/2019) did not have documentation of completed 10 hour VA Pre-service course on file.
