Violations

1
Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Based on observation, the center failed to ensure hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence:

In the infant room, the closet beside the changing table was unlocked with bleach spray and a bleach bottle on the floor.
The closet in the hall bathroom downstairs was unlocked. There was bleach and Lysol disinfectant on the floor.
Under the sink in the bathroom used by children in the hall on the main floor was Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner.
Plan of Correction: All hazardous substances were moved to a locked location. Staff will be advised to search their classrooms each day for hazardous substances upon arrival and ensure cabinets and closets are locked after use.
