Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review and interview.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 11/08/2021 and concluded on 11/15/2021. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 7 children present, ranging in ages from 4 months to 4 years, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed.

The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.

New requirements became effective on 10/13/21. The facility has not fully complied with the following requirements:
8VAC20-780-40-K - written procedures for prevention of shaken baby syndrome or abusive head trauma, including coping with crying babies, safe sleeping practices, and sudden infant death syndrome awareness.
8VAC20-780-350- F - The center shall develop and implement a written policy and procedure that describes how the center will ensure that each group of children receives care by consistent staff or team of staff members.

The center is using the model form Staff Orientation Documentation to ensure all staff orientation training requirements are being completed.

The facility is to review the new requirements and work with their assigned inspector to ensure future compliance.
