A renewal inspection was conducted on 11/02/2022 There were 32 children present and 7 staff. A tour of the facility was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with staff. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation, the center did not ensure behavioral guidance was constructive in nature, age and stage appropriate, and intended to redirect children to appropriate behavior.
Evidence:
Staff #1 and #2 were observed speaking to children in care that was not constructive or intended to redirect children to appropriate behavior.
1. During the inspection Staff #1 said the following statements to children using a harsh tone and provided not other guidance: "Turnaround. Get up. Go sit down. Wash your hands. Go to sleep. Lay down."
2. A child spit on the table during story time and asked Staff #1 about being good. Staff replied to the child, "spitting on the table is not being good, sorry."
3. Staff #3 told a child in a harsh tone, "What are you bouncing around for? Go sit."

Plan of Correction: Staff #1 is new and will be retrained on positive redirection. Staff #2 will be suspended for a few days and then placed on probation. Staff #2 will also be retrained on positive redirection.

Based on observation the center did not ensure all requirements were met when diapering.
Evidence:
The changing table had a pad that was torn, exposing the inside foam, making it an absorbent surface.
