During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and completed on November 4, 2024. The on-site inspection began at 10:00am and ended at 12:30pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 11 children present and 4 staff. The inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 5 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-190-A-4-b
Program directors shall be at 21 years of age, have two (2) years of programmatic experience with one year in a staff supervisory capacity and at least 120 hours of child-related training taught by an individual or by an organization with expertise in early childhood teacher preparation.

The Operations Director does not have at least 120 hours in child-related training.
Plan of Correction: We plan to hire a new director as soon as possible. The center director at our other facility, who meets the requirements, will work 5 hours per day at each facility until a new director is hired.

Annual approval from the health department shall be provided for meeting the requirements of food service.

The center did not have a current Environmental Sanitation Inspection.
Plan of Correction: The children bring their own food and drinks each day. We do not provide any food or snacks. I will submit the inspection request today.
