Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on 6/21/21 and concluded on 6/23/21. The center owner was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 15 children present and 3 staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with subsidy regulations, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Based on record review and interview, the vendor did not ensure that all staff have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care.

Evidence:
1. CPR certification for staff 1 and staff 2 expired in January 2021.
2. The vendor confirmed that staff 1 and staff 2's CPR certification is expired.
Plan of Correction: The vendor responded with the following: CPR/First Aid recertification has been scheduled for 6/24/21.
