8VAC20-790 Subsidy Vendor Requirements for Child Day Centers

A subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 5/18/23 from 10:45 a.m. ? 1:30 p.m. There were thirty-seven children present with eight staff providing supervision. The ages of the children ranged from 7 months to 5 years. The children were observed singing, coloring and preparing for lunch. Lunch was chicken Alfredo with broccoli, pineapple and milk. Handwashing was also observed. Attendance, menus, emergency drills were reviewed. No medication was on site and there were no children currently enrolled with diagnosed food allergies. Two staff records and four children?s records were reviewed. There was an adequate number of staff present with current certification in Medication Administration Training, (MAT), CPR and First Aid, and Daily Health Observation (DHO) training.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
