During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated on 7/16/2025 and completed on 07/23/2025. The on-site inspection began at 10:00 AM and ended at 12:30 PM. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 54 children present and 8 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records, and 4 staff on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility and interviews.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-340-F
Children under 10 years of age shall always be within actual sight and sound supervision of staff.

During the inspection, two children aged 5-8 years old were unsupervised. The two children were outside sitting on the sidewalk while the teacher and the remaining 8 children were in the classroom.
Plan of Correction: The director spoke with the staff person during the inspection. In the future all children under the age of 10 will be in actual sight and sound supervision.
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-L
Medication, except for those prescriptions designated otherwise by written
physician's order, including refrigerated medication and staff's personal medication,
shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by
children.

The children were washing their hands in the storage closet and unlocked medication was sitting on an accessible shelf.
Plan of Correction: The staff will remove the medication to a locked area and will ensure that all medication is locked and not accessible.
