Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, document review and a virtual tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 09/13/2021, a virtual record review was conducted on 09/16/2021 and the virtual onsite inspection was conducted on 09/20/2021. There were 11 children, ages 5 years-8 years, and 3 staff members present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staff qualifications and trainings, staffing and supervision, physical plant, programs, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 children?s records, 2 staff records and 2 medications were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Based on observation and discussion with staff, the center failed to maintain the required non-medical emergency supplies as required by the standards.

Evidence: There was not a working battery-operated radio on site during the 09/20/2021 inspection.
Plan of Correction: Batteries were requested to be purchased during the inspection.
Standard 22VAC40-191-60-C-2
Based on record review and discussion with staff, the center failed to obtain findings from a search of the Central Registry by the end of the 30th day of employment.

Evidence: The record for Staff 1 had a documented hire date of 02/03/2020. The date on the finding from the search of the Central Registry was 03/11/2020.
Plan of Correction: Will document and follow-up when not returned in 30 days.
