Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews, and a virtual tour of the program. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 1/31/2022 and concluded on 2/8/2022. The Administrative Assistant was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 115 children present, ranging in ages from 2.5 years to 6 years, with 18 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 4 staff records were reviewed.

Based on a review of staff records, 1 out of 4 staff did not have documentation that two or more references as to character and reputation as well as competency were checked before employment or volunteering.

Evidence:
1. Staff #1 (doh: 10/1/2020) had two reference checks on file that were completed after employment. (reference #1: 2/3/2021) (reference #2: 2/7/2022)
Plan of Correction: Moving forward, references for new hires will be completed prior to employment.
