Inspector Notes
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 2/27/2023 from 9:50am to 1:25pm. At the time of entrance, 82 children were in care with 18 staff members present. Children were observed lining up to go outside, washing hands after a pullup change, making sombreros with paper, cups and glue, listening to the teacher read a story, playing in centers, coloring, circle time going over the calendar and weather in Spanish, playing outside, participating in group discussion at circle time in Spanish and counting classmates in Spanish. Walls, bulletin boards and several other areas of the programming space was decorated with artwork, crafts and projects completed by the children. Interactions between the children and staff were positive. The site was organized and contained an abundant supply of developmentally appropriate materials. A selection of staff and children records, medications, the physical space, evacuation drills, emergency supplies and attendance records were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Please contact me if you have any questions at Stacy.Doyle@doe.virginia.gov or 571-835-0386.
