Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 10/18/2023 from 13:50 to 14:50.
At the beginning of the inspection two assistants were present with 9 children, totaling 22 points. The provider was at an appointment with her youngest child. She returned to the residence 30 min after the inspection started. The children were observed napping. The home has lots of space and supplies for the children to explore. Reviewed 2 staff records and 3 children's records.
Discussed the need for records to be available to the person in charge, when the provider is not at home.
A violation notice was given to the provider along with this inspection summary.

Based on the review of the physical plant, the provider failed to keep cleaners inaccessible to children.
Evidence: The cabinet under the sink in the child care room has cleaners stored in it. The cabinet has a safety lock that is not engaged.
Plan of Correction: I will make sure to remind staff to engage the lock on the cabinet so cleaners are inaccessible.
