Inspector Notes

An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on October 12, 2022 from approximately 9:30 am to 12:15 pm. There were 63 children in attendance and a total of 14 staff. 10 staff records, and 10 children?s records were reviewed. All areas of the center were observed including classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, kitchen, and playground. The children were observed learning about the letter B, listening to stories, playing with table toys, practicing writing, getting diapers changed, playing outside, and eating lunch while the licensing inspector was on the premises.

A complete licensing inspection was also conducted on this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in the licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Violations were cited as a result of this inspection.

Based on review of staff records, the center failed to ensure that all staff who work with children have current certification in CPR, including an in-person competency demonstration. Evidence:
1) The record for staff #4, date of employment 6/7/22, contained the online portion of CPR but did not contain the in person competency.
2) The record for staff #5, date of employment 5/23/22, contained the online portion of CPR training but did not contain the in person competency.
The record for staff #8, date of employment, 6/22/21, did not contain evidence of CPR certification.
