Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 3/28/23. The provider was present with 10 children and an additional caregiver. A total of 26 points.
The older children were observed playing outside, riding bikes and doing lots of running and jumping. The younger children were playing with toys inside building and playing with play food.
Lots of interaction between caregivers and children. The provider has a large space for care and lots of materials to explore. A violation notice was given to the provider with this visit summary.

Based on the review of staff records, the provider failed to ensure caregivers have 16 hours of training.
Evidence: The provider and assistant have not taken any training classes in the last year.
Plan of Correction: We will make sure we take the required training classes yearly,
Standard 8VAC20-800-830-C
Based on the review of emergency drills the provider failed to keep records of monthly drills.
Evidence: The provider does not have any records of drills conducted in November and December of 2022.
Plan of Correction: We conducted the drills and I wrote them down, I do not have the records sheet because I started a new one for this year. I will make sure I keep records for a year.
