Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A renewal inspection was initiated on 02/22/2021 and concluded on 02/23/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 23 children present and 12 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Based on record review, the center did not conduct a minimum of 2 shelter-n-place drills per year.

Evidence:
There were no shelter in place drills conducted in 2020. According to the record the facility was open 6 of the 12 months in 2020.
Plan of Correction: We will have a shelter in place drill with our 3/25/2021 fore drill and second scheduled for the fall for 2 minimum for the year.

Based on record review, the center did maintain a complete record of minor injuries.

Evidence:
2 of the 2 minor injury records reviewed were missing "any future action to prevent recurrence of the injury".
Plan of Correction: Utilize incident form with course of action to prevent recurrence of injury.
