Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed from 11:10am until 12:30. There were 10 children and two providers present.

The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 staff records and 4 children?s records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violation were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation, the hot tap water available to children was above 120 degrees.
Evidence:
1. The hot water in the sink children use was hot to the touch and had steam coming from it.
Plan of Correction: The provider will adjust the hot water heater.
Standard 8VAC20-800-960-E
Based on observation, bottle were not labeled with the child's name and date.
Evidence:
1. Two infants (child #1 and #2) were in care on bottles and bottles were not labeled with names and dates.
Plan of Correction: The provider will label the bottles with the name and date when more than one infant is in care.
