Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 5/31/2023 with the center staff. There were 52 children present, ranging in ages from 2 years to 5 years, with 8 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 0 staff records were reviewed. The children were practicing for graduation, working puzzles, drawing pictures, and having lunch.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of seven medications, the facility failed to notify parents that that the medication must be picked up within 14 days of the authorization expiring or that a new authorization should be completed. Evidence: The medication authorization for one medication for Child A expired 5/09/2023. The authorization had not been renewed and the medication was not returned or destroyed as required. The medication was on site.
Plan of Correction: The authorization will be renewed or the medication will be returned to the parent.
