Inspector Notes

This renewal inspection was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 08/18/2022, between the hours of 10:30 am to 12 pm. There were 8 children present (20 points), ranging from infant to preschool-age, with 2 caregivers supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 8 children records, (2) household records, and (2) staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined that there were (2) non-compliances with the applicable standards. These violations were documented on the Violation Notice issued to the home.

Standard 8VAC20-800-210-A
Based on review 2 of 2 staff files indicated that both caregivers did not obtain a minimum of 16 clock hours of annual training in areas relevant to their job responsibilities.

Evidence-
1. On the date of inspection (08/18/2022) Staff #1 had a total of 11 hours of annual training.
2. On the date of inspection, Staff #2 had a total of 13 hours of annual training.
3. Previous training year ran from 08/18/2021 through 08/19/2022.
Plan of Correction: Will obtain all 16 hours of annual training year for both staff.

Based on review, 1 of 8 children records indicated that not all of the required information was on file.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (08/18/2022), the policy number for the medical insurance belonging to Child #7 was not available for review.
2. The start date for Child #7 was listed as 04/18/22. While the number was not listed, the policy name was identified.
Plan of Correction: Will get from parent tonight.
