Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an in person component, including email contacts, documents review, interviews and an in person tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated with the new Director on 3/16/2022 and concluded on 3/16/2022. There were 28 children present, ranging in ages from 3 months to 4 years with 7 staff supervising. The children were observed eating breakfast, washing hands and playing outside. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-130-A
Based on a review of children records, the center does not have documentation that each child has received immunizations before the child can attend the center.
Evidence: Child #1, date of first attendance 3/3/2022 does not have documentation of immunizations. The child was observed in attendance this day.
Plan of Correction: The director has contacted the parent to bring in a copy of the immunizations.
Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were not kept in a locked place.
Evidence: The Inspector observed hazardous cleaning substances in a unlocked cabinet under the sink in the Young Toddler bathroom.
Plan of Correction: The Director placed the hazardous cleaning materials in the locked diaper changing table.

Based on observation, prepared infant formula was not dated.
Evidence: The Inspector observed 4 infant children's prepared formula in the refrigerator, these bottles were not dated.
Plan of Correction: We will date all prepared infant formula bottles.
