8VAC20-790 SUBSIDY REGULATIONS
Inspector Notes
A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on August 26, 2024. There were six children present with one caregiver staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations.
Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on
(September 11, 2024). A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.
Violations
3Based on record review and discussion, the vendor did not ensure that all caregivers shall complete the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within the first 90 days of employment.
Evidence:
The record of household member #1, employed on 06/01/2020 and identified as the substitute provider, did not contain documentation of the completion of the Virginia Preservice Training. The provider stated the Virginia preservice training had not been completed.
Evidence:
1. The record of household member #1, identified as a substitute provider, did not contain documentation of the department?s health and safety updated training. Household member #1 was employed as a substitute provider on 06/01/2020. The provider stated the training had not been completed.
2. The record of caregiver #1, did not contain documentation of the department?s health and safety updated training. The provider stated the training had not been completed.
Evidence:
1. The drill log did not contain documentation of a practice lockdown drill at least annually.
2. The provider stated she had not conducted a lockdown drill for the 2023 year.
