Inspector Notes
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 08/23/2023. The inspector arrived at 1:45 PM and departed at 3:20 PM. There were 18 children present with 9 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 1 child record and 5 staff records were reviewed. Medication administration and injury records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program and discussed with the program director during the exit interview.
Violations
3Evidence:
The facility was unable to provide documentation that staff 2, employed since 3/10/2023, had completed the required VDOE orientation course.
Team member has completed the required VDOE orientation course.
Certificate has been placed in new hire's personnel file.
Evidence:
The door to the laundry room located in the main hallway was not locked. There were containers of laundry detergent, bleach, sanitizing wipes, stain remover and multi-surface cleanser, all with warning labels, stored in this closet.
A sign has been placed on the door stating the door must be locked at all times. Additionally, the CD and Maintenance Technician will periodically checked the door to ensured it stays locked throughout the day.
Evidence:
1.The attendance record in the mixed age two year old classroom indicated three children in attendance. There were four children in care. Child 1 had not been added to the attendance sheet when she arrived.
2. Staff on duty in the mixed age two year old classroom acknowledged that child 1 had not been added to the attendance sheet when she arrived.
ECEDC will check the classroom attendance roster daily to ensure all the children are added to the attendance roster when they enter the classroom. The EDEDC will acknowledge the attendance roster is correct by initialing it daily. In the absence of the ECEDC, the FHC will acknowledge and initial the classroom roster.
