Inspector Notes
A renewal inspection was conducted on 10/04/2023. The inspector arrived at 12:20 PM and departed at 2:30 PM. There were 13 children present, ranging in ages from infant to four years, with 6 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program and discussed with the program director during the exit interview.
Violations
3Evidence:
Staff 1 was unable to provide the facility's written medication policy that is provided to all stay when hired. Staff 1 confirmed that all staff were trained but was unable to provide a written medication policy document that is/was provided to staff.
Evidence:
The center's policy regarding the administration included in the medication administration notebook indicates that medication is to be administered only by staff who are trained to administer the medication (MAT). Documentation provided showed that on 6/7/2023 and 6/20/2023, medication was administered to child 3 by staff 4 and staff 5 neither of whom are MAT certified.
Evidence:
1. According to medication administration documentation provide, albuterol was administered via an inhaler to child 3 by staff 4 on 6/20/2023. Staff 4 is not MAT certified.
2. According to medication administration documentation and staff interview, albuterol was administered via an inhaler to child 3 by staff 5 on 6/7/2023 and via a nebulizer on 6/20/2023. Staff 5 confirmed administering the mediation and that she does not currently have MAT certification.
