8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Child Day Centers

A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 09/27/2023 from 7:20am to 8:00am to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 10 children ages 6 years old to age 10 years old supervised by 3 staff. The physical plant, programming, attendance, menus, 2 staff records, 3 children?s records, 2 medications with corresponding authorization records, emergency drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were reviewed. Children were observed participating in with tablet games, table games and gross motor play. There was an adequate number of staff present with current certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT) and Daily Health Observation (DHO) training.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.
