Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 01/18/24 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. with the Site Director. There were seven children in care, ranging in age from five to 12-years-old, supervised by four staff. The children were observed making a snowman craft. Six child records and four staff records were reviewed. The Center has four staff with current certification in CPR and First Aid, and four staff trained in Daily Health Observation Training. Three medications and authorization forms were reviewed, and the center has three staff current in Medication Administration Training (MAT). Required postings were observed. The attendance, menu, and emergency drill log were reviewed. The first aid kit, flashlight, and battery-operated radio were observed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Based on observation and interviews the center did not have all the required nonmedical emergency supplies at the center.

Evidence: Staff were unable to get the battery-operated radio/flashlight to work. The flashlight did not provide sufficient light to use in the event of an emergency and the radio did not operate at the time of inspection.
