Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, and interviews.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 1/12/2022 and concluded on 1/13/2022. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 17 children present with 4 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on record review, the center did not obtain the results of an out of state sex offender registry search prior to employment from all states in which staff have lived within the last 5 years.

Evidence: Staff #1 (Date of Hire: 8/18/21) indicated on a signed Sworn Disclosure Statement dated 8/18/21 that they have resided in Maryland within the last 5 years. Staff #1 has a Maryland sex offender registry search on file completed 9/29/21.
Plan of Correction: All employees will have out-of-state backgrounds completed prior to employment.
