Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A virtual monitoring inspection was initiated on 5/14/21 and concluded on 5/18/21. The director was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were 6 children and 2 staff present. Two staff and two children's files were reviewed.

The information gathered during the inspection determined one violation with applicable standards or law.

Based on an interview and a review of two staff files, it was determined that one staff had not obtained the out of state child abuse and neglect search by the end of the 30th day of employment nor the out of state sex offenders registry prior to the first day of employment.
Evidence:
Staff A was hired on 3/2/20 and had lived in New York within the last five years and there was no out of state child abuse and neglect search nor was there an out of state sex offender registry search completed.
Plan of Correction: We will get these additional background checks.
