8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Child Day Centers

A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 12/12/2022 from 7:00am to 8:00am to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 8 children ages 5 years old to age 9 years old supervised by 3 staff. The physical plant, programming, attendance, menus, 2 staff records, 3 children?s records, 2 medications with corresponding authorization records, emergency drills, injury reports, and emergency supplies were reviewed. Children were observed participating in art, science activities, legos, games and playing with playdough. There was an adequate number of staff present with current certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT), CPR and First Aid, and Daily Health Observation (DHO) training.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
