Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on October 25, 2022. There were 52 children present, with 15 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard 8VAC20-780-500-A
Based on observation, staff and a child's hands were not washed with soap and running water. after toileting.
Evidence
The inspector observed, after toileting (diaper change) a child's hands were not washed with soap and running water in the Toddler room.
The inspector observed, after assisting a child with toileting (diaper change) staff #1 washed their hands with water and no soap was used.
Plan of Correction: We will review the hand washing procedure with all staff again.
Standard 8VAC20-780-500-B
Based on observation, the diapering surface was not cleaned with soap and at least room temperature water and sanitized after each use. The diapering area did not have soap and disposable towels.
Evidence
Observed by the inspector, the diapering surface was not cleaned with soap and room temperature and sanitized after a diaper change in the Toddler room.
Soap and disposable towels were not available in the diapering area in the Infant room.
Plan of Correction: We will review the cleaning and sanitizing procedure again with all staff and make sure the are using soap and water, pat dry and sanitize with bleach and water after each diaper change.
Soap and paper towels were put in the Infant room during the inspection.
