Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted 08/10/2023. There were 39 children, ages 2 years-12 years, and 8 staff members present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staff qualifications and trainings, staffing and supervision, physical plant, programs, emergencies and nutrition. The children were observed during free choice activities, arts and crafts, and lunch. A total of 5 children?s records and 5 staff records were reviewed. The inspector discussed children?s allergies with the staff. The inspector arrived to the center at 9:00 am and departed at 11:30 am.

A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable subsidy requirements were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Based on observation, record review and discussion with staff, the vendor failed to ensure that all staff who work directly with children shall have a current certification in CPR within 90 days of employment.

Evidence: The record for Staff 4 had a documented hire date of 03/20/2023; Staff 4 does not have a current certification in CPR.
Plan of Correction: Will get the staff enrolled in a class.
