Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today with the director and administrative staff from11:35 am to 1:50 pm Seventy-five children were present with 12 staff providing supervision. The Licensing Inspector was able to observe free play, outside time and transition to lunch time.
For lunch, the children were served cheese pizza, applesauce, green beans and milk.
Six children and four staff files were reviewed as well as medications for four children. Six injury/accident reports were reviewed as well.

Based on a review of record keeping and interview, it was determined that child A has a diary allergy, but that information was not written on the list which identifies which children have allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions.
Plan of Correction: We added this child's allergy to the written allergy list.
Standard 8VAC20-780-60-A-8
Based on a review of recordkeeping and interviews, it was determined that child A has a diagnosed milk allergy but there was no written care plan on file for this allergy from a physician.
Plan of Correction: We will obtain an allergy care plan from the child's physician.
