Inspector Notes

A full renewal inspection was conducted today. The provider and 2 assistant caregivers were caring for 6 children, totaling 17 points. The children were observed eating morning snack of apples/cooked carrots/mozzarella sticks, singing songs, listening to stories, and playing with toys.

The Inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of programming, administration, physical plant, emergency preparedness, background checks, and nutrition. A total of 3 children's records, 3 caregiver records, and 3 adult household member records were reviewed.

Based on observations, it was determined that the provider did not prepare snack foods in a manner that helps reduce the risk of choking.
Evidence:
The Inspector observed the children eating cheese sticks served whole. The cheese sticks were not cut lengthwise in order to help reduce the risk of choking.
Plan of Correction: We will begin cutting the cheese sticks before serving them.
