Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:25a,-1pm. There were 8 children directly supervised by the provider and 2 assistant caregivers. The home, 3 caregiver records, 3 children?s records, evacuation drills, and emergency supplies were inspected. Children were observed eating lunch, playing freely, and preparing for naptime. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on record review, 1 of 3 caregiver records did not contain all required information.

Evidence:
1. The record for Caregiver #2 did not contain the caregiver's date of employment.
2. The record for Caregiver #2 did not contain the name address and telephone number of a person to be notified in an emergency
Plan of Correction: I will complete the Assistant Record form for the record.
Standard 8VAC20-800-180-A
Based on record review, the provider did not obtain a current tuberculosis screening every two years for 1 of 3 caregivers reviewed.

Evidence:
1. The most recent tuberculosis screening in the record for Caregiver #1 was dated 02/08/2021.
Plan of Correction: The assistant will make an appointment.

Based on observation, the provider did not ensure the total number of children receiving care at any one time does not exceed the maximum licensed capacity of home.

Evidence:
1. The family day home is licensed to provide care for 7 children.
2. There were 8 children present during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: Provider will not admit more than 7 children in the Family Day Home.
