Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on November 15, 2023 from approximately 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. There were 24 children in attendance and a total of 7 staff present. 3 staff records and 3 children?s records were reviewed electronically jointly with administration on November 17th. All areas of the center were observed including classrooms, bathrooms, and the playground. The children were observed taking a nap, getting diapers changed, and eating snack while the licensing inspector was on-site.

Violations were cited as a result of this inspection.

Please complete the plan of correction and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice, sign, and return it to me within 5 business days from today, 11/27/2023. Please specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Your plan of correction should contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again, and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventative measure(s).

Based on record review, and interview, the center failed to obtain a copy of the results of a search of the child abuse and neglect registry from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence: The record for staff #1, date of employment 10/10/23, indicated that staff #1 has resided in a state outside of Virginia within the preceding five years from the date of employment. The record for staff #1 did not contain the results of a search of the child abuse and neglect registry from the state that staff #1 resided in within the preceding five years. Interview with administration confirmed that the record did not contain the results of a search of the child abuse and neglect registry from the state that staff #1 resided in within the preceding five years.
