Inspector Notes

A renewal inspection was initiated on October 7, 2022 and concluded on October 12, 2022.
There were 14 children present with 3 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Based on observation, the center did not ensure all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place using s safe locking method that prevents access by the children.

Evidence: During the inspection on October 7, 2022, the following observations at the center were made:

1. The kitchen door was observed slightly ajar and unlocked where multiple bottles of disinfectant cleaners, insecticides with the labels "keep out of reach of children" "caution", and "inflammable" were kept under the sink unlocked and accessible to the children.

2. The storage closet inside the bathroom was observed unlocked containing a variety of disinfectant cleaners, multipurpose cleaners, and insecticides with the labels "keep out of reach of children" "warnings" and "caution".
Plan of Correction: Director will make sure that all doors are to remain lock at all times.

Based on observation, the center did not ensure all electrical outlets have protective covers.

Evidence: In the Blooming butterflies classroom, there were two electrical outlets observed with no protective covers and accessible to children during napping.
Plan of Correction: The outlets are all tampered proof in the facility, however we can put outets covers on.
