During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on 04/23/2025 and completed on 04/30/2025. The on-site inspection began at 10:15 AM and ended at 11:30 AM. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 11 children present and 2 caregivers: the point total 25. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records, and 2 caregiver/household members records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility and interviews.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 05/05/2025. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard 8VAC20-800-320-G
Wood burning stoves and fireplaces and associated chimneys shall be inspected annually by a knowledgeable inspector to verify that the devices are properly installed, maintained, and cleaned as needed. Documentation of the
inspection and cleaning shall be maintained by the provider.

The most recent annual fireplace inspection is overdue by 3 months.

Standard 8VAC20-800-430-A
Children under two years of age and children over two years of age who are not developmentally ready to climb or descend stairs without supervision shall not have access to stairs.

In the main child care area, there were stairs leading upstairs that did not have a gate at the access of the stairs.

Medication, except for those prescriptions designated otherwise by a written
Physician?s order, including refrigerated medication and medications for caregivers
and household members, shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

There were four household member?s medications sitting in the living accessible to the children.
